I just started showering before bed and not drying my hair, which has a million benefits, three of which I will outline here. First, no holding a heavy blow dryer above my head (I had bilateral shoulder reconstructions in college and if I can avoid overhead exercise, that’s always my first choice). Second, no heat damage. Third, I wake up with shiny curls. Um, what. Deadpan whyamIjustlearningthis face.
I helped my hair with some strategic curling iron tendrils to get this look, but this takes an estimated 0.01% of the effort I usually exert on my head every day. Be prepared for more of this, at least until I grow out my haircut (if that ever happens).
So, this outfit. Comfy. Simple. Quick. Good for getting back to work deadlines that require more attention. On that note, bye.
P.S. Kitten heels: good for getting things done, but still feeling like you’re wearing clackers.
This outfit was very quick to assemble and get out the door. We had places to be and people to see without time to get ready — which is why I love stocking up on go-to pieces like these that don’t require much strategizing in case of emergency.
P.S. A smile is always in season and is the easiest accessory
Getting things done requires an outfit that can move, and being myself requires that it be chic. What better combination than a faux fur vest by one of my favorites, Rachel Zoe, and some bow-belted shorts? I have been loving an all-black combination with a little pizazz for a chic surprise; so quintessentially NY while I enjoy my CA lifestyle. Maybe someday I’ll try the big city, but for now, I’m loving my beautiful bay.
