After trying a black manicure with reverse ombre last week, I wanted to give it a more colorful update to kick off the springtime weather we’re having this week. It feels fun enough for a fashion blogger and professional enough to werk for work. Color me obsessed!
How are you prepping for spring? I have found myself gravitating towards pretty pops of color, and I’m itching to add some pastel to my closet. Pretty faboosh that the black and white “trend” we all know I embrace so lovingly is extra conducive to colorful accessorizing! Loving my staple pieces even more this season.
After finally finishing a bathroom reno project, I wanted a better way to both display my pretty beauty regimen and make it easily accessible. This 3-tier pastry display from IKEA was perfect for the job.
My everyday essentials fit on the top tier, well within reach. I use the second shelf for my glasses and hide other essentials towards the back, such as eye drops, my disposable contact packs and my rarely-used lash curler. The bottom tier gets all my nail polish in the front for a colorful, glittery display, and I keep the less aesthetically pleasing items towards the back, like nail files and trimmers.
A teacup holds my mascara, eyeliner, lip liners and makeup brushes, and its twin bowl is used to make my body lotion look more polished.
This freed up space in the medicine cabinet, where I keep things like my face wash routine and toothpaste. I also like that it adds a feminine touch to the bathroom.
What are your favorite products of the moment, and how do you store them? I just love settling into a space and making it home.
When Pinkies asked if I’d like to check out their nail salons, I of course said yes. My extra-flimsy nails are always in need of some TLC and I was curious about the Shellac mani I had heard so much about.
Reasons I am now madly in love with Pinkies Nail Salons: First, quality. I have never had such a meticulously performed manicure. Check my Instagram — this cotton-candy-pink Shellac mani was still looking 100% amazing on day 10! Second, customer service. Everyone from the host (who is not a nail tech, so there is always someone to greet you!) to my manicurist was happy, friendly and helpful. Third, their social media butterfly and photographer were super fun and made this collaboration extra stylish, sparkly and sweet!
I checked out the Los Altos location, but there are also Pinkies salons in San Francisco, Burlingame, Danville, Lafayette and San Ramon. Plus, you can save $5 by signing up to be a VIP, which gets you insider gifts, offers and beauty tips. Have you ever encountered such a sweet nail salon? Pinkies takes the cake! (Also, in case you missed the photo with the XL wall of OPI — yes, they have every color under the sun.)
You can also join me at Girls Night Out on Thursday, September 20th and get a Pinkies mani while at the event (along with a ton of other sweet swag). The night will be packed with #stylishsparklysweet fun!
So, I’m in love with Pinkies for all ten of my fingers. Get your $5 VIP credit and find out for yourself today! (And then meet me at Girls Night Out.)
These products are my tried-and-true favorites of the moment. My insatiable beauty appetite is (momentarily) whetted by these lovely finds, an admirable feat considering my high standards. Sensitive skin, ever-chapped lips, damaged hair, thin nails—you name it, I bring it to the table. These are the good girls in my beauty gang. Trust.
