Va-Va-Voom: Versace Fall 2012 Haute Couture

Versace typically strikes me as a feminine, sexy fashion house with a flair for dramatic detail. These four looks from their Fall 2012 Haute Couture collection felt like just a slight departure from their norm — and I love it. Still very true to Versace form, these looks felt more etherial, more refined, more coquettishly reserved — more stylish, sparkly and sweet! But, of course, with the oh-so-Versace va-va-voom we all know and love.

From the short and sweet (runway look 16) to the a lacy, cold shoulder (look 20 on a favorite of mine, Karlie Kloss) and the tulip-like POC (look 26) to the elegant-but-sassy pink shimmer (look 22), Donatella’s fashion house successfully made this #fashiongirl say ooh and ahh.

I can’t wait for these close-toed, gladiator-inspired heels to hit stores. Also considering a bit of shimmer is one of my favorite things, this fall is sure to make a welcome stylish, sparkly and sweet addition to my wardrobe! Can we discuss the hair? It’s like the ’40s met 2012 in sweet, lengthy pin curl harmony. And I am inspired.

Bravo, Versace, bravo.

  1. You are right, this is such a departure from the bright, bold colors and super sexy silhouettes. I really like these understated pieces though- the muted colors and the gorgeous fabrics have won me over! Oh and in case you missed it, Karlie was on one of the covers of W Magazine’s July issue :) And I too am in LOVE with the hair! I think it’s gorgeous and definitely can’t wait to give it a try.

    • Emily, you are the sweetest! This definitely has me excited for fall, too, and I am really loving this new look for Versace (unfortunately, I probably won’t be adding one of these dresses to my closet, haha!). I don’t get W Magazine – I clearly need to start! Thanks for the heads up! Xo
